FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you take any insurances?  I don't take insurance though I can help you submit paid invoices to your insurance company if your plan offers out-of-network reimbursement.  I can help you get familiar with some of the "insurance vocabulary" so you can best understand your plan.

What is your fee? Please feel free to email me to inquire about my fees.

Do you have before or after work hours?  Weekend hours?  I work day and evening hours.  (My evening slots are often, but not always, full).  I have daytime availability usually beginning in the late morning, Monday through Friday.

Where is your office located?   My office is located in New York City in the Flatiron district, adjacent to Union Square and Chelsea.  My address is 156 5th Avenue, which is on the northwest corner of 20th Street and 5th Avenue.  I am in Suite 1223 which is located on the 12th floor.  The suite is best accessed from the "west" elevators and it is the last suite on the 12th floor on the right.  My office is adjacent to the RW trains and close to the 6 train and 1 train as well.

What should I do before my first session?  I recommend that new patients call their insurance companies prior to their first appointment to inquire about their plans.  You should ask if you get out-of-network reimbursement, what your deductible is, what percentage of reimbursement you can expect, what number of sessions are covered within the calendar year, if there is a maximum amount you may be reimbursed per session and if you need to get pre-certification before the initial session.  I provide detailed invoices with all the codes and dates or services you will need.  Additionally, please take a look at the next tab entitled, “Office Policies”, to be sure you are familiar with them.

What happens after the initial consultation?  We both decide during the initial appointment if it feels like a good match.  If it does, we proceed.  I usually see patients once weekly or twice weekly.
