about
I am a compassionate, skilled, seasoned psychologist who has been in private practice in New York City for over 20 years. I am particularly focused on "meeting my patients where they are at" and tailor my approach accordingly. Originally trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy which allows me to work well with anxiety, depression, relationship issues and the like, I've also taken on a specialty in the field of eating disorders which has exposed me to more cognitive/behavioral strategies. I find this flexibility in approach to be very valuable for all of my patients. I conduct individual psychotherapy, couples and family work with adults.
I specialize in the field of eating disorders among adults. Upon meeting a patient who endorses such symptoms, I determine if there is a need for other providers (such as dietitians, psychiatrists and medical doctors) or if a program is necessary. If additional providers are needed, I provide referrals and work closely with them using a team approach.
My primary goal is to achieve symptom relief for my patients. Once symptoms are reduced, we may then begin to try to gain more insight into the origins and triggers of the symptoms. My ultimate goal is to help empower my patients to avoid relapse and be able to live their best lives.
